Are you feeling afraid or overwhelmed today?
You know it well, I am sure—the way a small piece of life can steal your peace in life.
This week I prayed with many of you, anxious about the unknown or uncomfortable. Some of you fear the rising global events, or raising a growing family. Others are crippled by work worries. For me, it tends to be insecurity in my role as a wife and mama.
And today, Halloween, sometimes exasperates fearful feelings (or numbs us to them with overflowing bowls of candy).
Instead of swimming in anxiety or stuffing it down, you can surrender it today.
God says
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
Did you notice the secret? God’s remedy for panic is His presence!
Every unsure thing in your life is an opportunity for Jesus to surprise you. In Christ you can live with anticipation not anxiety!
God’s remedy for panic is His presence!

Action Steps:
- Set aside time to be with Jesus today. Talk to him about your anxious thoughts (do it even though you know He already knows them). Check out my 20 Minute Moving Meditation Video: Fear Not as a guide!
- Ask God for a heightened awareness of His presence in every moment of your day:
- at your desk or the kitchen sink,
- as you drive or change diapers,
- in the lonely moments or hard conversation,
- when you are tempted to zone out with a screen or when you are overstimulated.
Be WITH the One who promises to be with you. And watch your fears fizzle out in the assurance of His power.
