Week 18: February 23-March 1
Babies are the size of: Baked potatoes baby! I like mine topped with pulled pork, cheese, sour cream and… we are talking about baked potatoes right?
Exercise: Babies are getting tons of exercise this week. I don’t feel them as often as I’d like (because I just can’t sit still that long), but they are practicing their somersaults and karate moves. Unfortunately, I am not getting as much movement, due to nasal congestion and freezing temperatures… turns out I’m a wimp when it comes to exercising at home.
Best moment this week: Shane and I sat on the couch and sang our favorite hymns to the kids. Their ears should be in full working order now, and we got to feel a couple of “bubbles” as we sang.
Miss Anything? Honest moment here: I do have occasional feelings of missing more simple times. When 2 people weren’t dependent on our finances, my food-intake, or even my emotional state. Shane and God give me grace, and soon enough I’m back to rejoicing over this incredible blessing we have already in this pregnancy.
Food cravings: Oatmeal cream pies!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Orange juice
Gender prediction: Oh boy… or girl… who knows at this point! (Our gender-reveal is being interrupted by the lovely winter white-out….)
Labor Signs/prep: We officially asked my beautiful sister-in-law to be our doula for the twins birth.
Symptoms: One big tummy.
Mood: Cheerful, with the occasional flow of unexplained weepiness
Lullaby of the week: Sweet Pea, by Amos Lee
Truth I’m dwelling on: take each day as it comes… one day at a time.
“Therefore we do not lose heart. … inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
2 Corinthians 4:16-17
Looking forward to: Serving God in Dallas, TX in a week (warmer weather, a week with my favorite students and mentors, what more could a girl ask for?) Also, when we get home, everything is supposed to slow down a bit, so I can start sorting and packing up the house for the big move in May!
Thank you for reading and praying for our growing family!
